It is not often that we boast but ...
At the LexisNexis Taxation awards yesterday, LITRG members between them received four awards which must be a record for a small team. All of us at LITRG are grateful of the support we receive from the general public, from HMRC, from the Chartered Institute of Taxation and in the case of yesterday, from the tax profession as a whole.
We are pleased to record that at the LexisNexis Awards held in front of an audience of 700 people in London yesterday LITRG received the following awards:
Kelly Sizer received the Award for Taxation’s Rising Star.
Victoria Todd and James Stevens (supported by Shawn Mach of Rightsnet) received the Best Technological Innovation Award for their work in creating the RevenueBenefits website (www.revenuebenefits.org.uk).
Anthony Thomas, the new incoming Chairman of LITRG, received the Tax Personality of the Year Award.
John Andrews, the founder of LITRG and retiring Chairman of LITRG, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Everyone at LITRG is proud that our work to provide a voice for the unrepresented has been recognised by our peers in the tax profession. The awards above are given to named individuals but they are also a recognition of the wider supportive team at LITRG and the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
A big “thank you” to LexisNexis and all those who voted for us. And now back to work to try to help as many people as we can, as they wrestle with the UK’s impenetrable tax and benefit system.
