Could repayment of my loan ever be cancelled?

Yes. The principal sum of the loan plus any interest on it should be cancelled:

  • when you reach the age of 65 or
  • if you die before you have paid off your loan or
  • if you become permanently disabled provided you have made all the repayments you should have made based on your income to date.
