If your complaint concerns the Student Loans Company you will need to write directly to them on the matter.

Each of the organisations has established procedures for complaints. You need to contact the relevant organisation and follow the appropriate procedure.

If you are still dissatisfied having exhausted the procedure for complaints, you are entitled to have an independent review of your case. Independent reviews of the handling of student loans are usually dealt with by:

• the Adjudicator for services provided by the Revenue. The Adjudicator tries to find solutions by mediation or by making formal recommendations.



• The Adjudicator publishes a leaflet you can read - AO1 How to complain about the Revenue



• Alternatively you may contact the Parliamentary Ombudsman if your complaint concerns the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS) - formerly the DfES. The Ombudsman investigates cases where bad administration by any Government department has led to an injustice that has not been remedied.
