On a very low income?

The current coalition government has been stressing their intent to take many more people out of the tax net so this part of the website looks at those people who generally fall just below the taxpaying limit.

If you are someone on a very low income it is likely that you may be entitled to one of the means-tested State benefits, such as pension credit, housing benefit or council tax benefit. If you do pay a little tax always remember that this tax is a deduction from your income in calculating the income upon which the means-tested benefit is calculated.
