Tax Credits: Improving Delivery and Choice - LITRG response

The tax credit system has attracted heavy criticism since its inception in 2003. Whilst it has achieved many more things than its predecessors, LITRG believes that much more should be done to enable the system to reach its full potential.

HM Treasury and HMRC recently published a welcome consultation about tax credit delivery. The background paper discusses several possible changes to the tax credit system, such as the introduction of some types of fixed award.
