Withdrawal of extra statutory concessions

Published on 31 October 2012

The LITRG has responded to the call for evidence on the withdrawal of extra statutory concessions.

Currently an HMRC concession allows a disabled person without a blue badge but who has a company car to benefit by using the price of a manual car rather than the price of an automatic when calculating their benefit in kind.

The HMRC call for evidence issued in December 2011 proposes to abolish this.

In our response we state our reasons for it to be retained.

The consultation document can be read on this page of the HMRC website.
