Judicial Review: Proposals for Further Reform - LITRG comments

Published on 1 November 2013

The LITRG has expressed concern that the proposals put forward by the Ministry of Justice will reduce court access to those for whom such action is already mostly out of reach. We suggest that the costs regime be left as it is to ensure a fairer balance; that representative bodies should continue to have standing to bring judicial review cases on behalf of those they represent; and that the remedy be made more accessible by being exercisable by the lower courts and tribunals.
