The Low Incomes Tax Reform Group (LITRG) is urging the estimated one million taxpayers who failed to file their tax return on time to get their tax affairs back on track.

Some self-employed taxpayers have been affected by an issue where their 2024/25 tax calculations wrongly included class 2 National Insurance. HMRC have now provided an update.

If you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland and you expect your income in the 2025/26 tax year to be more than £35,000, you have until 15 September 2025 to opt out of receiving this year’s winter fuel payment.
