This is a general announcement to let you know that on 7 September 2025 at 3pm, the UK Government will be carrying out a national test of the Emergency Alerts system.

HMRC are reminding parents of 16 to 19 year olds to go online and extend their child benefit claim by 31 August to continue payments. 

To better understand the role of tax advisers within various national tax systems, including that of the UK, a team of international researchers is looking to interview UK tax practitioners who are willing to share their insights and experiences.

HMRC’s online customer forums will close on 30 June 2025. If you like to use the forums, make sure you get any remaining queries in by the beginning of June. 

From 6 May, HMRC will no longer provide Unique Taxpayer References (UTR) over the phone.
