Have your say on HMRC’s service
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) report on their performance against the HMRC Charter standards on an annual basis. This is your chance to complete a short survey to tell us how you think HMRC have performed. We will use your feedback when we write our comments for the HMRC Annual Report.

LITRG is represented on the Charter Stakeholder Group. The group is made up of HMRC officials and representatives of organisations from the tax community, including LITRG and our Chartered Institute of Taxation colleagues.
Representatives of professional bodies meet with HMRC on a regular basis to discuss the Charter and the experience of taxpayers and agents when dealing with HMRC. The representatives also provide feedback on HMRC’s performance against the Charter for HMRC’s Annual Report. The report includes a section on how HMRC have performed against the Charter. It also includes areas of progress and priorities for improvement. You can read last year’s Annual Report on GOV.UK – go to the section called “Our accountability” and look for the heading “HMRC Charter”.
HMRC’s Charter sets out the relationship between HMRC and their customers. It explains what you can expect from HMRC, and what behaviours they expect of you.
The representative bodies that attend the Charter Stakeholder Group have prepared a survey to obtain feedback and we would welcome your input.
The survey questions cover the financial year 2025-26. This means we are looking for feedback in relation to your experiences of HMRC during the period 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
The results of the survey will form a key part of the representative bodies’ feedback on HMRC’s performance against the Charter. This feedback will be published in HMRC’s Annual Report.
The survey should take no more than five minutes to complete. We welcome input from individuals, businesses and agents. The survey will run until 26 April 2026.
