As an initiative of the CIOT, LITRG endorses the comments made in the CIOT’s response to this consultation.

Our supplementary response focuses on points relevant to low-income unrepresented taxpayers in relation to making professional indemnity insurance mandatory for all tax advisers. We also take the opportunity to make some general points about what steps HMRC can do to support unrepresented taxpayers find good quality tax advice and other steps HMRC can take to raise standards in the tax advice market.
